Cash Donations
The simplest and most common method of giving to the Center is an outright gift of cash. Your tax-deductible contributions in any amount will help to begin the journey of speech and hearing for children and adults. Donations received will go directly to support our services. Memorial and Tribute Gifts
Special people and special occasions are worth remembering. A gift to Bristol Regional Speech and Hearing Center is a great way to honor the person and occasion while at the same time helping to make a difference in the lives of children and adults in our community.
A memorial or tribute gift is especially meaningful for
- sending congratulatory wishes
- remembering an event, such as a birthday or anniversary
- remembering the life of a family member, colleague or friend
Matching Gift Program
If your company would like to establish a Matching Gift Program, your donation may double or even triple in value. You may contact our Executive Director to set-up a matching gift program at (276) 669-6331.
Appreciated Assets
In addition to a one-time cash donation or annual contribution you may wish to explore gifts of stock, real estate, and other assets. Such gifts provide an opportunity when appropriate, for the Center to sell the assets at current, appreciated values. In turn, the resulting sale may bring you substantial tax benefits.

OTHER WAYS TO HELP (GIFTS AND ESTATE PLANNING):
Your generous gift to Bristol Regional Speech and Hearing Center is important. Your personal circumstances and goals will help determine which assets are best suited for your gift. Some of the assets that can be used as gifts are described below:
Real Estate
Gifts of real property such as your personal residence, second home, income property or vacant land can be used to make a charitable gift. You may gift your entire interest or an undivided percentage. The tax deduction for your gift is based on the current market value of the property as determined by a qualified appraisal.
Life Insurance
An existing life insurance policy can be used to make a tax-deductible gift to our Center, provided you irrevocably designate Bristol Regional Speech and Hearing Center as beneficiary. A revocable beneficiary designation is considered a charitable bequest and will create an estate tax deduction.
Charitable Bequest
A charitable bequest to our Center can be made estate tax free. There are several ways to structure a charitable bequest including a gift of a specific asset, a sum certain, a percentage of your estate or a residuary gift.
Retirement Plan Benefits
Retirement plan benefits such as individual retirement accounts, 401 (k) and 403 (b) arrangements, and simplified employee pensions are subject to multiple layers of tax. Retirement plan assets owned by you at death may be subject to both income and estate taxes. Since Bristol Regional Speech & Hearing Center is a tax-exempt entity, distributions made to the Center after your death will be free of income and estate tax.

HEARING AID DONATIONS:
Used or unwanted hearing aids in any condition are gratefully accepted as donations by Bristol Regional Speech and Hearing Center.
If you have behind-the-ear aids that are in good repair, we are able to use them as loaner aids for the children and adults that seek services at our Center.
Other hearing aids, particularly the in-the-ear type, are sent to a hearing aid manufacturer for use with the Hear Now Program (a program that assists many individuals throughout the U.S. and the world with obtaining hearing aids).
Who are our hearing aid donors?
The relatives of hearing aid users who have passed away
People who have purchased new aids and do not feel the need to keep the old ones
People who have received cochlear implants and therefore do not need the aid(s) anymore
What are the tax benefits?
Your hearing aid donation is the fair market value at the time of the gift. In order to determine the value of your donation, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your hearing aid. We will mail you a receipt confirming the number of hearing aids donated.
